Professional Growth and Flexibility at Thriveon

Professional Growth and Organizational Flexibility

It might seem counter-intuitive to move from a huge, global corporation to a small, local business in order to gain technology career advancement, but that’s what John McCann saw when he came to work for Thriveon in 2014. As John marked his one year anniversary of employment here, he reflected upon how this first year has met his expectations for professional growth and has given him an appreciation for how flexibility is a component for customer responsiveness and company culture.

Career Advancement at Thriveon

John’s professional development at Thriveon has been stimulated by both the needs of the customers and his personal. He has been able to gain additional training this past year in firewall technology and communications systems in order to build on the company’s proficiency in those areas.

“Whether you want to become a network administrator, or an applications specialist, Thriveon will help you get training in just about anything that helps to continuously improve services to clients,” says John. “The owners and management here want people to be happy and successful, and they know that an employee’s personal success translates into company success.”

Organizational Agility

John has worked in collaboration with Jake Bloedow, Service Manager, to develop Thriveon’s service model this past year. While processes and repeatability are the foundation for providing consistent IT services, John has been able to point out areas where adjustments have resulted in better performance. Having an employer who is interested in his opinions and ideas has only increased John’s respect for how the company is run. He also appreciates how agile Thriveon can be when needed, and that is important in an industry that is always changing.

Family Friendly Culture

Ask John what family friendly looks like at Thriveon, and he’ll tell that it’s about being available for his family that includes his wife and four kids from 10 to 18 years old. There is also a family feel to the interactions that take place internally. Co-workers easily become friends when they share the same values and work ethic.

Working at Thriveon

When asked what he would say to someone considering a career move to Thriveon, John replied, “This is a challenging yet friendly environment and there is a wealth of knowledge here. You definitely can meet your aspirations for a rewarding career in technology here.”
